Hi. We’re Equipsme. We thought health benefits and insurance should be better, and work for more people, so we built something different. We’re backed by AXA Health, so you know you’re in safe hands and getting the best care. We’ve just made it more affordable and more accessible.
At Equipsme, we LOVE the NHS - but there’s no pretending it isn’t under enormous pressure right now. Your Equipsme plan is here as your back-up plan, helping you beat the queues and get back to being fighting (and working) fit as soon as possible.
Unlike other health benefits and insurance, we actually want people to USE their plan. It’s not supposed to sit in your back pocket and do nothing. Which is exactly why we’ve put together these practical guides.
Not every Equipsme member will have Dental and Optical cover – it depends what kind of plan your business has bought for you. So do check whether this cover is relevant to you before reading on!

What is Dental and Optical cover?
Equipsme’s Dental and Optical cover is an option that businesses can choose to add-on to their Equipsme plan.
Can an individual add it to their plan as an upgrade?
No – Dental and Optical cover can only be bought for you by your company.
How do I know if I’ve got Dental and Optical cover?
Log in to your Equipsme portal. You’ll find the Member Login on the top right hand side when you visit www.equipsme.com.
If you don’t know your username and password – go and check your last email received from us. You will have been sent details on how to sign up and get onto your portal in your welcome email.
Once you’re in, you’ll see all your benefits laid out on your home page in big, easy to read icons. So you can see if Dental and Optical is on there.
What do you get with Dental and Optical cover?
Equipsme’s Dental and Optical cover gives you:
- Up to £200 in the plan year for dental fees, at an NHS or private dentist of your choice, for check-ups, hygienist visits, gum disease treatment, x-rays, fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures.
- £25 towards the cost of one eyesight test per plan year, and up to £100 for optician fees, including towards the cost of prescribed glasses and contact lenses.
How do I access my Dental and Optical cover?
When you go to the Dentist or Optician, ask for a receipt of your tests/treatment and what you have paid. You then log back into your Equipsme portal or APP, select the Dental & Optical benefit icon, complete the online claim form and upload copies of your treatment/payment receipt(s) – and submit it through to our claims team at AXA Health.
Do I have to pay for Dental and Optical cover?
This is the only part of your Equipsme plan where you’re asked to pay up-front, and claim back the cost of your treatment up to the agreed cover limits.
How long does it take to get my money back?
Once you’ve submitted a claim, our claims team will assess it and if covered, you will receive a cheque reimbursement in the post usually within 14 days.
Do my family get Dental and Optical cover?
Yes! Unlike many other Dental and Optical plans, every person you add to your Equipsme plan is also added to the Dental & Optical cover that your employer has bought for you – at no extra cost. That means you don’t share one £200 dental pot – each person can get £200 per plan year for dental treatment, and £100 for optician costs (plus £25 for an eye test).
